100/110 HiLo Clap Frame?

Announcing the release of the CadoMotus NORDIC 110. 100mm and 110mm wheels in an optimized HiLo format for stability, control... and clap function. The best of HiLo, 110mm wheels, and clap function TOGETHER IN ONE FRAME. Does that sound like a performance advantage? Then read on...

Nordic Bladers: Want climbing performance? Want smoother, more fluid strokes and full muscular recruitment to your push? Want more roll, more speed and higher performance? The NORDIC 110 is your frame. Learn more about the proven benefits of the clap format for Nordic Blading.

Speed Skaters: Want 110mm speed with the stability, control and acceleration of a HiLo skate? 13.2-inch power and straightline speed, together with a clap mechanism on the front wheels for added push extension and effectiveness. The NORDIC 110 is your frame. Read the specifications of the NORDIC 110 here, or for smaller skaters, read about the NORDIC 100 (90/100 HiLo Clap frame) here.

Skaters can expect to experience smoother, more natural movement mechanics. Plantar flexion of the foot using a clap mechanism extends push length without having to sit deeper 'in the position' - resulting in reduced fatigue, the ability to sit higher when pacing in the group, and more effective straightline strokes when sprinting. The HiLo format results in a lower forefoot deck height for stability and control, while benefiting from the roll of 110mm wheels and maintaining standard pitch (important if you wish to maintain the benefits of your existing, trained, 'neutral' skating position).

Expect to hear more about the NORDIC 100 and 110 frames as Nordic Bladers get their first real Nordic frame, and Speed Skaters approach the 2007 European Season with 110mm wheels a permitted marathon material.

Excellent product! I'm sure it works as advertised. I wish they'd also work with my xc skating boots.

Why does the clapping part have a stop preventing the 2nd wheel to raise above wheel 3 and 4? I suppose of it could tilt both ways, rolling resistance over bad road surfaces would be improved?
I can see the clearance issue with the bottom of the foot, but a smaller wheel or slightly taller stance might help with that.

Thanks Cloxxki,
The HiLo Clap will definitely work with your XC skating boots if you use the XC-C Free Binding - which works with a hard-shell boot and standard skate mounting.
The Clap mechanism on the Nordic HiLo does not allow an inverse clap action, as the possibility for excessive 'feedback' between the surface and the skate would be increased and require additional damping. Modern inline skate wheels, particularly those such as MPC that offer exceptionally high rebound characteristics, do an amazing job of 'smoothing out' rough surfaces.
Clearance between the mechanism and the foot is intentionally minimized , to provide the lowest foot-ground clearance possible - maximizing fine movement control and efficiency.
