Shane Dobbin conquers Dijón

It is one of the most beautiful marathons in the season, the Roller Marathon of Dijón. In the historic centre of the French city CadoMotus' World Team success continued. Shane Dobbin took the solo victory.

Just before the start of the race sunny hot weather changed into rain. "This made the course extremely slippery", Dobbin said after the race. "Even Storm Surge wheels made no difference anymore. It was a race for rain specialists again."

In these hard conditions, the pack soon ended up in many small groups, with only about 20 skaters left in the first small peloton. Four CadoMotus skaters survived, all doing there best to make the race even harder and place as many attacks as possible.

"Shane was incredible today though", says Bart Swings, who had an incredible sprint from the back of the group to second place in the last straight. "He placed attack after attack, I have never seen anything like this."

Shane Dobbin: "I was slipping, so I knew everybody would be slipping. Races in the rain are hard to everybody, in the back and in the front. Knowing this, I decided to make as many attacks as I could."

Another team success in an incredible race season so far. With the full team attending races this season, the worst team result is second. "I haven't experienced a team feeling like this since about 10 years I guess", says Dobbin.

Winner and runner-up, both CadoMotus. Shane Dobbin and Bart Swings celebrate the team victory
