Double victory for CadoMotus in Otterlo

CadoMotus' Bart Swings & Elma de Vries both claimed wins on Saturday in Otterlo, Netherlands - positive signs ahead of the European Championships which begin Thursday...

Bart Swings took a strong win in the mens race, finishing 6 seconds clear of Crispijn Ariens as the two duked it out alone after taking a lap (700m) on the pack. In the bunch sprint that took place earlier to clear the course for the finish of the two escapees, Ferre Spruyt led teammates Shane Dobbin and Maarten Swings across the line for a sprint 1-2-3.

Elma de Vries too took a lap on the field in the womens race, thanks to controlling work by CadoMotus teammates after she left the field to "test the legs" and continued on to claim a lap. Brooke Lochland outsprinted Anniek ter Haar for the finish, with the main field coming in some 10 seconds later - in a field sprint won, amazingly, by CadoMotus' Hilde Goovaerts, who was making her return after the birth of her son just 8 weeks ago.
